Dear Friends,

What is the Scoop?
Wow! Is it just us? Or did the months of August and September go WAAYYY to fast! It seems like we were just at the Kent County Fairgrounds at the beginning of August stationed at our vendor booth in the blistering heat and humidity.

Anyway, Fall has brought many changes as always, we are starting to see the leaves on the trees change color and now the weather seems to be getting chillier as we speak, thank goodness for furnaces =) Along with all of the changes of the season, Jenuine Creations, LLC has been working round the clock on several wonderful Senior Portrait Sessions and a couple of Weddings and Events here and there since our last email. October is really our big month for Fall, we have our Fall on the Couch Family Sessions three weekends in a row during this month and also several Senior Sessions.

Our family is doing very well, we have been very blessed and thank God for all of His goodness as we head into Fall, Thanksgiving and dare we say... Christmas (it is right around the corner!). Image of the Month: "Friendship"

This photograph may seem like an ordinary photograph for may individuals who look at it, but for us at Jenuine Creations, LLC, this image is a treasured keepsake. The story behind this image dates back years ago when I (Jennifer) struck up a relationship and friendship with the marvelous photographer Kathleen Lake, out of Saranac, MI. She had taken lovely portraits of Nicole, Christi and Shelli when they were younger, and to this day, my favorite photograph of the three of them, from those sessions hangs framed over our family piano.

Long story short, as years passed, the girls grew up and my connection with Kathleen grew more distant, until late last year. Through a series of "coincidental" connections, I reconnected with her and weeks later, Kathleen had found our website online and had called on "Wednesday the 24th of February, 2010 at approximately 1:25pm in the afternoon." (We know because we have her message saved on our answering machine =). We reconnected and learned that she was still battling dreaded cancer, since 2007.

We cannot tell you how much Kathleen encouraged us over these last few months and special times we got to spend with her. The photograph above was taken in March of 2010, unfortunately Christi was unable to be there that day. Nicole, Shelli and I had the cherished memory of spending the day with her and her wonderful husband Bob, talking about life, cameras and photography. She possessed kindness, caring words and a laugh that was so contagious, when you heard it you could not help but laugh along with her. And to again be honest, she is a large part of the reason we are doing what we are doing today.

Kathleen passed away just a few days ago, on September 23rd, 2010. We are saddened greatly that her loving presence is not here on earth with us anymore, but know that she must be such a blessing in Heaven right now and we take comfort that she is smiling down on us. Kathleen, you were a wonderful mother, grandmother, wife, photographer, colleague, encourager, mentor and friend. As the Reverend said so eloquently at your service, "we shall NEVER forget you and the purpose and enthusiasm with how you chose to live your life." You were an inspiration to everyone that knew you, thank you for taking the time to know us so personally.

So go and hug that special someone you know, or just give a phone call to a loved one that you cannot be with at this very moment. Let them know how much you love them and how much you treasure the relationship they share with you. Live each day to the fullest with love, friendship and purpose, just as Kathleen did.
